The American Red Cross
Cornhusker First Aid Services Team
The American Red Cross First Aid Services Team provides one of a kind emergency medical services to the city of Lincoln. Since 1937, the Red Cross has provided a First Aid Team at University of Nebraska-Lincoln Cornhusker football games. That program has grown to include Husker men's and women's basketball and volleyball games and other community and business events each year.
Since 2006 the American Red Cross First Aid Team has been a state licensed basic emergency medical service.
In 2011, 171 Team Members covered 239 events in the area. We were at Memorial Stadium, Devaney Center, the Lied Center, Midget Football, UNL Coliseum, Haymarket Park, Pershing, the Guardians of Freedom Air Show, Lincoln's Uncle Sam Jam and other venues and events in the area.
The Team is a well trained and well equipped all-volunteer squad. Members include First Aid Volunteers, licensed First Responders, EMT's, Paramedics, and Nurses.
