malcom-fire.gifDisaster Services
The American Red Cross, Cornhusker Regional Chapter assists with all types of disasters. The Red Cross works to help those affected with disaster-caused needs on a
case-by-case basis. Red Cross assistance may include basic food and clothing, emergency shelter, emotional support and referrals to other resources for the victims. The American Red Cross responds to house fires more than any other disaster.

How We Help

American Red Cross disaster volunteers provide on-the-scene emergency assistance to those suffering from disaster. Emergency assistance includes food, shelter, emotional support and other emergency items - and when additional assistance is needed, the Red Cross is able to guide families to other resources in the community.

Service Delivery
Our Chapter completes its service delivery at three levels of operation:

  • Disaster Action Team (DAT) - Responds to smaller disasters such as house and apartment fires, severe weather, flooding and tornadoes.
  • Chapter Operations - Responds to larger disasters that include services such as feeding and sheltering.
  • National Level Operations - If necessary, our National organization provides support to the Cornhusker Chapter with human and material resources to assist with large-scale operations anywhere in the USA.

Red Cross services are provided to clients without bias, based solely on disaster-caused need.

How You Can Help
All disaster assistance provided from the Red Cross is free of charge. The programs are available through the generous financial contributions of local individuals, businesses and foundations. You can help provide disaster relief by making a financial contribution to the Cornhusker Chapter American Red Cross. To donate, click here.
